The city of Nimes, very close to where we are staying in Noves, is famous for bull fights (only one bull fight is allowed every year now, which we did not attended I should add), but also for an annual music festival at the Nimes Colosseum which attracts an incredible line up of international and local musicians. Last year we saw Santana – our seats were great, but up in the “bum numbing” section where wooden planks have been laid over the original (Roman!) tiers. With the benefit of experience, this year we booked tickets to see Sting early. Fourth row, centre stage – unbelievable! The picture I have attached is from my camera (it’s not great, sorry). Today we went to Saint-Remy-de-Provence where there is a great market every Wednesday before coming “home” to relax and cook!
