After a quiet weekend wandering around local markets, Monday was a step up in pace. In the morning, we drove to the Saint-Paul de Mausole, the (still working) asylum where Dr Theopile Peyrone treated Vincent Van Gough during his 12 month period of internment. I have added pictures of his office, and Van Gogh’s room (which was paid for by his brother – much more agreeable than the dormitory that housed other less fortunate souls). Then, on to Nimes where we saw the legendary Carlos Santana perform at the colosseum, which seats 24,000 people! The show was incredible – finished at 11:30; we stayed the night and drove “home” this morning. Now to prepare some artichokes and make another cherry clafoutis.
