Mediterranean Beach Culture

It’s definitely not Bondi. To start with, there are no waves, and the water temperature is a brisk 18 degrees. So “Mediterranean surfing” (as we call it, and which seems to be the go here) involves walking out to about waist deep and just standing while you chat and enjoy the view. We can highly recommend it! Some people pay for a parasol and a beach chair for the day – we prefer to go for a walk and a quick dip in the morning, and then come back and find a patch of sand to enjoy the sun (and a bit of “surfing”) after lunch in the afternoon. On Friday, we leave for Burgundy!
